Reinforcing our Commitment

In 2016, The Tarshis Foundation partnered with The Center for Animal Protection and Education's Animal Film Festival in

Grass Valley, California, to create the Tarshis Film Awards.

These awards honor creative filmmakers who produce short-length films that best highlight animal abuse and suffering in modern farming or laboratory research in a manner that influences viewers to pursue a more plant-based lifestyle. Today, the Tarshis Film Awards represent the largest cash awards offered in the country for films showcasing issues of animals used in food production.

Each winning film achieves the goal of advocating for human health, the environment or the humane merits of plant-based lifestyles.
